NJ Data Reveals Stable Market

Sales volume of existing single family homes, condominiums and co-ops in the fourth quarter of 2007 is stable. According to statistics released by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) on February 14, 2008, New Jersey's seasonally adjusted annual rate of home sales equaled 128,400 in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Fourth quarter median sales prices of existing single-family homes in the Atlantic City area showed the largest increase in the entire Northeast region, after Binghamton, New York. The Trenton-Ewing market also experienced an increase in median sales price. In the Newark-Union area the median sales price increased by 5.3 percent, and in the metropolitan Philadelphia area prices rose by 1.1 percent. On April 22, the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) released the existing-home sales data for March. While national sales activity was down, the Northeast region rose 2.2 percent from last month. NAR also reported the median price in the Northeast was $284,300, up 4.6 percent from a year ago.
